What to Expect

Sémillon is one of the grapes traditionally used to produce both dry and sweet white wines in Bordeaux. When bottled on its own the wine produced is rich and full with deep flavors of melon, fig, pineapple and apricot featuring gentle, earthy, spice tones and a subtle vegetal undercurrent.

Winemakers Notes

The 2007 vintage was one of the earliest on record with harvest dates 2 - 3 weeks earlier than what we call the norm. Even though vintage was early it was not due to excessively warm weather in summer, but rather it was due to a warmer spring, which brought everything forward. Another of those attractive blends that have become synonymous with Margaret River. Magical citrus/tropical flavours provide the very essence of enjoyment. John Fordham, The Sunday Telegraph, 30 March 2008

This picked up a couple of trophies at the 2007 Royal Perth Wine Show, one for Best Dry White Table Wine (Blends) and the other for Best 2007 Vintage Dry White Wine and a very good wine it is too. Bright and quite pungent with a mix of nettles, citrus and tropical fruits. On the palate it's really perky and zesty with passionfruit, pineapple and citrus fruit, sweet nettle and capsicum spice - a burst of Passiona® style flavour. It has balanced acidity which is slightly bitey and perhaps a little loose on the palate, but certainly easy to drink. Closes with a good dry Gin and Tonic flavoured finish. read more...
