Juliénas Cuvée Michel Tête 2009
Tête’s wines are fleshy and generous, have intense color, lively berry aromas, and notes of black pepper. The Beaujolais-Villages and Juliénas are bold and forward, and very pleasurable even when young. The Cuvée Prestige is aromatically backward in its youth, and its dense, velvety matter develops harmoniously with some bottle age.
Cherry juice and red raspberry jam on the nose. Flavors of under-ripe raspberries and cherries. Sour crabapple finish. Not unpleasant, but no structure or complexity.
External Reviews for Juliénas Cuvée Michel Tête
The Cuvée Prestige is made from a selection of Tête’s oldest vines, macerated in open vats with remontages and a half of it is barrel fermented and aged for 10 months. It's dark and structured with a long, earthy finish.
Dark in color this red has a stunning perfume of cherries and ripe raspberries with a floral nuance. It’s brimming with cherry, berry fruit with a floral, spice tinge. Rounded and elegant, it finishes with a nice crispness. This terrific young Beaujolais is one to enjoy now.
