Julien Sunier Regnie 2015

External Review:

The 2012 Regnie comes from the lieu-dit of “En Oeillet” and, unlike the other two crus, is raised in both tank and barrel. It seems to have a little more depth than the 2012 Morgon, adorned with attractive scents of cranberry, raspberry coulis and undergrowth. The palate is clean and fresh, instantly recognizable as an elegant Beaujolais wine, with a pastille-like, almost sorbet-fresh purity on the finish, yet with a tertiary residue on the finish. Superb. Drink now–2018.

Vivid ruby-red. Smoky cherry and dark berries on the pungent nose and in the mouth. Sappy and nicely focused, with a peppery quality adding spiciness. Supple tannins shape the finish, which lingers with very good floral persistence..
