Judd's Hill Lodi Petite Sirah United States California Napa County Napa Valley Red 2003

Member Review by atonalprime:

Rich, musty nose with notes of ripe berries, full body, smooth but still firm tannins, notes of creamy berries, molasses and dark chocolate on the palette, gentle finish of vanilla, dark stonefruits and coffee. A nice pair with pepperoni pizza.

A very interesting wine. Dark and inky as a Petite Sirah should be. It's a high alcohol (14.5%) grape juice with still a bit of a yeasty or musty smell and taste. But I the smell doesn't transfer too much to the taste - perhaps the high alcohol is killing that.
