What to Expect

Cabenet Sauvignon: Originally of French origins, this versatile grape produces exceptional wines around the globe. It's usually medium to full bodied with a fine structure that supports black and red fruit flavors with typical notes of olive, chili and herbs that add complexity.

Winemakers Notes

The wine was aged in a combination of new French and American oak barrels (50%) and two-year-old oak (50%) from coopers Sylvain, Demptos, Nadalie, Canton, Taransaud, Vicard and World Cooperage.
The fruit is from estate-owned vineyards (75%) and independent growers (25%).
2005 Vintage Notes: The 2005 vintage was unusually late due to mild temperatures that averaged between 70-80°. From August 1 to October 31, only 15 days exceeded 90°, and even then it never got hotter than 98°. Despite this, color and flavors developed early on, with good sugars, though acids took longer to read more...

90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot from estate-owned vineyards (75%) and independent growers (25%). The dark ruby-colored 2005 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon resembles a classic Bordeaux both in aromatics and flavor. A rich bouquet of cinnamon, spice, licorice, graphite and caramel are followed by integrated layers of cherry, currant, fresh cream and balanced, sweet tannin, all of which contribute to a youthful, bright, multi-layered wine.

his wine was rich and inviting on the nose hinting at dark fruits and forest floor. Showed a glimmer of green pepper but in a subtle and attractive way. Full bodied with intense currant and sweet plum fruit. Great balance and a pleasure to drink. Ended with a medium finish reminiscent of the dark fruits with a bit of licorice.

Lovely scents of butter, oak, spice, and berries.
Dry with a bit of cedar.
Spice finish.

90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot and 4% Petite Verdot

Nose has elements of spice, caramel. Flavors indicate a lot of oak. Long finish, great balance, strong tannins. I feel like it needs a year or two to really show.

The restrained, European-styled 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits classic notes of cedar, black currants, menthol, and spice as well as excellent fruit, sweet tannin, delineation, and vibrant acidity. It should drink well for a decade.

this is a wine that didnt win me over initially, but the taste was enjoyable. After decanting for about an hour there was a small turnaround up front, but the finish remained the same enjoyable and lasting.
