Joseph Phelps Red Rhone Blend Monterey County le Mistral 2003

Member Review by joshwoodward:

Pencil lead nose, with black berries. Medium body, red fruit, medium tannin and acid. Simple. Cracked pepper. Fresh, dusty.

Nose: soft (American?) oak, some subtle French (?) oak; some vanilla (appearing with air); tannic; licorice; tea; good, but a characteristic New World wine: lacking dimension, depth, sophistication, complexity. Drinkable but in no way memorable.
