($135; bottled the week prior to my visit; cabernet sauvignon with 18% merlot, 3% petit verdot, 1% cabernet franc and 1% malbec) Good bright medium ruby. Highly aromatic nose of cassis, crushed blackberry, violet, cola, cedar, mint chocolate and shoe polish, with enticing spicy high tones. Sweet and lush but penetrating, with lovely vinosity giving shape to the black fruit and mineral flavors. Surprisingly expressive in the middle palate but finishes with youthfully tough, molar-coating tannins that will require at least four or five years of bottle aging.

It reveals a smoky, rich cassis characteristic, medium to full body, and an open-knit, lush, generous style without the austere tannin and backwardness of the 1999. This expansive, fleshy, and seductive offering read more...

Plum & Blueberry on nose and flavor profile. Very enjoyable. Will continue to improve for another 5 years. Well made wine with perfectly integrated tannins. Would decant for 1 hour if you have the time. Enjoyable!
