Fruit forward and concentrated, but just enough hit of earth to stop it from being too syrupy sweet and overly big. Dark cherries, cassis, a bit of dark chocolate, mossy notes. A great sipper on its own and lots of pairing potential.

Tightly wound, with a firm, dry, tannic band of dried currant, roasted herb, chicory and cedar. Needs time. Best from 2013 through 2022.

The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is a big, rich wine bursting with dark fruit. This is a fairly immediate style, some serious tannins notwithstanding. Smoke, tobacco and licorice develop in the glass, adding complexity and nuance. The powerful, fruit-driven finish is totally rewarding, but this will be even better in a few yearsandrsquo; time. Anticipated maturity: 2012andndash;2024.
