What to Expect

Cabenet Sauvignon: Originally of French origins, this versatile grape produces exceptional wines around the globe. It's usually medium to full bodied with a fine structure that supports black and red fruit flavors with typical notes of olive, chili and herbs that add complexity.

Winemakers Notes

In years with high yields, selective blending often results in an Innisfree label. The 2005 Innisfree Cabernet was produced from extra fruit after the Insignia and Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon blends were created. This forward and approachable wine boasts aromas and flavors of mulled spices, red fruit, coffee and cedar, with a long, concentrated finish that lingers on the palate.

I Love this wine. It is smooth and goes well alone or with a variety of dishes.

Full bodied cabernet with deep cherry or almost purple color. Delighful smooth wine with blackberry aroma. A $20+ wine that tastes like a $50+.

When Joseph Phelps releases this wine (only on superior surplus years) I make sure I buy plenty of it. You can find it out there for around $20 a bottle and I think it is one of the best $20 cabs money can buy. Phelps obviously has a marvelous pedigree from their Insignia blend. This cab is awesome.
