Joseph Faiveley Bourgogne Chardonnay 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

Family owned for 7 generations, Faiveley has an awesome selection of vineyards in pretty much all areas of Burgundy. Their traditional strengths are in the Cotes de Nuits and Mercurey however recent purchases in the Cotes de Beaune have widened their appeal. 80% of their grape requirements are sourced from their own vineyards. The Bourgogne Chardonnay 'Joseph Faiveley' is matured for 8 to 10 months in our cellars in Nuits-Saint-Georges. Part of the cuvee, is raised in oak barrels. These barrels come from high-quality barrel makers and have been rigourously selected for their fine grain and light toast. This Chardonnay displays a brilliant pale yellow colour with green glimmers. The very nice expressive nose has white flower scents. The attack is bold and generous. This wine, which is balanced on the palate, has good volume and quite exceptional long-lasting scents and tastes for this appellation. It is very good quality for money and is already very pleasurable to taste now.
