- By the usual standards of the Drouhin Montrachet, this is an unusually powerful with absolutely no botrytis notes and beautifully delineated, very rich, very ripe orchard fruit aromas and noticeably toasty oak notes. The flavor profile is full-blown yet there is lovely detail with a lovely underlying band of minerality which helps balance off the delicious, still vibrant, wonderfully long finish. For me, this is the finest Drouhin Monty of the '90s, just edging out the superb '96 and '99.

For some time I thought this was the best Drouhin Montrachet of the '90s but the '96 may very well surpass it. Multiple and consistent notes.
