Joseph Drouhin Gevrey Chambertin France 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

"The 2008 Gevrey AC is nicely reserved and also shares the lovely transparency that is in evidence with the Nuits villages this year. The bouquet is deep and complex, as it offers up scents of cherries, a touch of dark berry, espresso, herb tones and a fine base of Gevrey’s black minerality. On the palate the wine is medium-full, long and very transparent, with a nice base of ripe tannin, bright acids and lovely bounce on the long and complex finish. This will need a year or two more bottle age than the Nuits AC, but it too should prove to be a lovely village wine...88" JG 11/09
