Joseph Drouhin Chardonnay Bourgogne Blanc Véro 2004

Winemaker's Notes:

Wine Tasting Notes Brilliant gold yellow color; aromas of fruit trees in bloom, fresh almonds and honey. On the palate, the wine coats the mouth with a round, velvety sensation, held together by a nice mineral backbone. Pretty flavors of almond paste, grilled hazelnut and lotus flowers. The overall impression is of lightness, harmony and elegance.

Joseph Drouhin:
DEDICATION TO THE DIVERSITY OF BURGUNDY With close to 90 different appellations, Joseph Drouhin offers a fascinating array of Burgundy terroirs in all their authenticity and subtle variations. A FAMILY HERITAGE For the last 130 years, Maison Joseph Drouhin has been in the hands of the Drouhin family. Today, the fourth generation is at the helm, animated by the same passion that inspired the founder of the company.

very good basic chardonnay, minimal oak, a mere suggestion of butterscotch, lemon, pear, mildly earthy, well balanced, crisp, lightly bitter finish

Full and generous yet extremely elegant wine, with the distinctive peach and almond nuances characteristic of the commune married seamlessly to the rich Chardonnay fruit and harmonious notes of oak, both in the nose and on the palate.
