Joseph Drouhin Beaujolais Nouveau 2007
It has a bright purple color, a very intense nose, reminiscent of violets, peonies and red berries. On the palate, it has a silky smoothness, and its delicious fruit lingers for a long time. Beaujolais Villages is very versatile with all kinds of food, especially simple and flavourful dishes such as hors-d'oeuvre, charcuterie and white meats.
DEDICATION TO THE DIVERSITY OF BURGUNDY With close to 90 different appellations, Joseph Drouhin offers a fascinating array of Burgundy terroirs in all their authenticity and subtle variations. Today, the fourth generation is at the helm, animated by the same passion that inspired the founder of the company.
We really enjoyed the '07 vintage and will be using it at an upcoming wine event in our town. We will be pairing it with a local caterer's delicious polenta with clam sauce. We found the smooth mouthfeel and fruity taste to be exceptional. We also enjoyed it with our thanksgiving turkey.
Light in color and flavor. It was almost a little too close to a rosé for my taste, but overall not bad. It had a faint nose and short finish, but did have a fruity flavor with some tannins that opened up nicely.
