Josef Leitz Riesling Eins-Zwei-Dry 3 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

"Eins Zwei Dry is always from an Erste Lage (grand Cru) site in Geisenheim called Rothenberg. It's red quartzite [soils] and very very steep. Other producers bottle this as a top site and charge more money for their wines, but Leitz wants to make a great dry entry level wine to make people more curious about Riesling and the other wines he produces from the Rüdeshiemer Berg." "As Leitz says, 'If you give a child a bad musical instrument to learn to play on, it is more likely that they will not like what the inferior instrument produces and will give up on learning. Even if they don't know much about it, people can tell that a superior instrument performs better. The same is true in wine.' Eins Zwei Dry is a superior entry level instrument." -Importer
