Josef Chromy Tasmania Chardonnay 2011

Member Review by zufrieden:

Josef Chromy (Launceston, Tasmania) is well known in the Great White North for Pinot Noir, but for Chardonnay less so. If you are tickled by the garlic-lees scent of some Chablis, this may be the wine for you. No fruit-bomb for après-midi aperitifs, this wine is acidic and cold-climate - and mainly for food. Ignoring the nose, the entry is quite juicy and tart. Austere and metallic it could use a bit more suavity, less garlic... but then basing everything on one bottle ... always a risk. The wine is, however, elegant. 88 points.
