Jorge Ordonez & Co Victoria Ordonez la Ola del Melillero 2016

Winemaker's Notes:

"Founded in 2004, the winery is the result of collaboration between Jorge Ordonez, who was born and raised in Malaga, and Alois Kracher, the late world famous Austrian winemaker who was known for his dessert wines. It was Jorgeʼs dream to revitalize the dormant wine industry in his hometown and restore its former glory." - Distributor Note

His son, Gerhard, joined the project creatively in 2008.    The project is dedicated to producing dessert wine styles using modern innovations and techniques, made from the varietal Muscat of Alexandria. Among an impressive portfolio, they are the first in modern history to produce a naturally sweet, unfortified Moscatel wine. This method has not been produced since sweet fortified wines gained popularity in the 17th century when brandy was added to the wine to stabilize it for the long sea voyage back to England.  Read less
