Concentrated, lovely black fruits aromas of blackberry, blueberry and cassis. The mouthfeel is luscious and full with continued flavors of blackberry, cassis, black cherry with a suggestion of vanilla, coconut and cedar. The soft, round tannins and understated acidity of this wine complement the bright fruit characters to create a balanced Cabernet Sauvignon approachable now or worthy of cellaring for at least 10-15 years.

The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon sees 19 months in mainly French oak of which 70% is new. It has an attractive nose of mulberry, blackberry leaf and a touch of warm gravel that is well defined and more understated than I expected. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity and a very elegant finish of raspberry and wild strawberry fruit. This is a very well crafted Cabernet that shows more harmony and complexity than the entry-level range. Drink now-2018. Visually stunning with a deep garnet-ruby hue, this wine possesses an unprecedented elegance of fruit expression, lively acidity, tannin structure and oak integration. Aromas of blackberry, black cherry and cassis are supported by subtle hints of baking spice and vanilla from oak aging. The mouthfeel is soft, silky and robing with a seemingly never-ending finish.
