Jordan Vineyard & Winery Chardonnay Russian River Valley 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

Barrel-fermented and matured "sur lie" in Burgundian oak barrels for nine months. A buttery toastiness from the oak rounds off the complex hazelnut and citrus flavours.

Very enjoyable Chardonnay. Had a very light pleasing nose with pear and apple and some tropcial fruit mixed with vanilla. Nice layered taste of fruit, oak and vanilla.

Jordan Chard is the chardonnay that made me understand there is more to chardonnay than just oak monsters! I started drinking it to be polite, and it was so smooth and tasty, it has been my favorite ever since!

Wine Tasting NotesThe citrus and mineral bouquet includes delicate aromas of crisp green apple, kiwi, honey and lightly toasted oak. The balance of green apple fruit and crisp acidity provide lasting flavors that will compliment the table fare of any home or restaurant.

The bouquet offers delicate aromas of Fuji apple, citrus, nutmeg, honey, and lightly toasted oak. The wine delivers lively and complex flavors of Asian pear, key lime, and Marcona almond. These refined notes offer a seamless expression of rich, bold flavors with a long, elegant finish. This wine will be delicious upon release and will continue to gain honeyed richness with an additional 3 to 5 years of aging. Serve between 55 and 60 degrees to ensure the full flavor development.

Light, bright yellow. Fresh apple, fig and tangerine on the nose, with a kiss of vanillin oak adding depth. Pliant orchard and pit fruit flavors are given tangy lift by citrus peel and dusty minerals. The fruit is a touch sweet but the wine's mineral... Stephen Tanzer.
