User Reviews for Jordan Vineyard & Winery Chardonnay Russian River Valley

Winemaker's Notes:

Exceptionally balanced fruit produces wines of tremendous length. Flavors of singular dimension give way to more elaborate but subtle essences. Like the white Burgundies of France, the naturally high acidity of our chardonnay has been softened by a malolactic fermentation, providing a better balance to the fruit and aged characters of the wine. Bottled in the summer of 1986, the 1985 Jordan Chardonnay has sufficient aging to be enjoyed now for its eminent fruit character. with continued bottle aging, it can only get better.

Tasting Notes:

Our 1985 Jordan Chardonnay displays an outstanding fruit character, is harmoniously balanced, delicately structured, with a long, lingering finish. The aroma is not forward, but rather restrained, allowing a complex assortment of fruit characters to gradually appear. Hints of apples, pears, and pineapples are surrounded by rich, buttery aromas and toasty, oak flavors from the fermenting and aging in small French oak barrels
