Winemaker's Notes:
The Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon has gained a remarkable reputation as an elegant wine possessing great balance of fruit, body and bouquet. The 1984 Jordan Cabernet exemplifies continuity of style. Our maturing estate vineyards located on the floor of the Alexander Valley contribute enormously to our fine Bordeaux-style wine. The elegance and delicate structure that have become Jordan's trademarks are enhanced in this vintage by blending approximately twelve percent Merlot with the Cabernet Sauvignon.
Tasting Notes:
The 1984 Jordan Cabernet reminds us of our 1976 vintage. It is very drinkable with full fruit flavors balanced beautifully with subtle taste components achieved by two years of aging in small french and American cooperage. Characteristic of a warm growing season in Alexander Valley, the wine shows a rich, fruity bouquet and ripe flavors of cassis. The charming fruit flavors and soft tannins make this 1984 vintage pleasant to drink at a youthful age, and yet with proper cellaring the subtle, complex components assure development of the wine for many years to come.
