Smoky and slightly nutty on the nose with a hint of earth and dried leaves covered by fresh red cherry and red currant fruit with just a hint of mint. Just a little on the young side, this shows some tension on entry with polished yet abundant tannins and integrated acidity keeping the core of rich, slightly tactile but ultimately fresh fruit under wraps. The oak is adding a nutty layer here, and some lovely spice notes that come out on the back end along with red cherry and currant fruit. This really builds nicely to the long finish which shows lovely interplay of wood spice, fresh fruit and minty notes. Elegant and polished old school California Cabernet. 92pts

Deep purple color. Slight plum and cherry aroma. Fruit forward with black cherry and blackberry notes rounded out with a delightful earthy finish with a touch of herbs. Gentle but noticeable tannins. Good now but probably will be worth aging.

More Euro-style than California. Reminded me very much of Chateau Montelena. Big berry flavors with aromas of forest, raisins, and port. Tannic, big, and beautiful

Lots of strong aromas: cherries and blueberries. The mouthfeel is very rich, with hints of vanilla. Awesome wine.

I don't know what I would rate this wine. It was a gift, one that I am currently unable to replace if I open the bottle, so for the time being I have simply added it to my cellar. Cnn Traveller wrote an article about the creator of this wine in an article labled A Vine Romance http://www.cnntraveller.com/2009/03/30/a-vine-romance/2/ which is very interesting. You can read a little more about it on the official site. http://www.zumot-wines.com/ourWines.php

Fantastic cab. Black cherry and berries on the nose leading into notes of cassis, vanilla and oak with a smooth finish. I have had every vintage since 1996 and find Jordan always delivers quality. The influence of Andre Tchelistcheff is evident to this day in Rob Davis' winemakling style.

The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon sees 19 months in mainly French oak of which 70% is new. It has an attractive nose of mulberry, blackberry leaf and a touch of warm gravel that is well defined and more understated than I expected. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity and a very elegant finish of raspberry and wild strawberry fruit. This is a very well crafted Cabernet that shows more harmony and complexity than the entry-level range. Drink now-2018. Visually stunning with a deep garnet-ruby hue, this wine possesses an unprecedented elegance of fruit expression, lively acidity, tannin structure and oak integration. Aromas of blackberry, black cherry and cassis are supported by subtle hints of baking spice and vanilla from oak aging. The mouthfeel is soft, silky and robing with a seemingly never-ending finish. Enjoy now or cellar through 2025. Decant prior to serving to further accentuate the aromas and flavors. - WineryVarietal Blend:75% Cabernet Sauvignon19% Merlot5% Petit V...

Concentrated, lovely black fruits aromas of blackberry, blueberry and cassis. The mouthfeel is luscious and full with continued flavors of blackberry, cassis, black cherry with a suggestion of vanilla, coconut and cedar. The soft, round tannins and understated acidity of this wine complement the bright fruit characters to create a balanced Cabernet Sauvignon approachable now or worthy of cellaring for at least 10-15 years.

Winemaker's Notes:

To make a wine of greatness, the vintner must accept losses in both grapes and wine due to strict quality standards similar to the very best crus in Bordeaux. These sacrifices allowed us to overcome a difficult growing season like 2008, to achieve, in the end, a classic vintage marked by elegance, restraint and Jordan’s hallmark consistency—a wine that will wow wine lovers for a decade-plus.

Tasting Notes:

2008 showcases both the delicacy of the vintage and Jordan’s smooth, approachable style. Elegant aromas of cherries and plums open to a soft, silky mouthfeel boasting a spectrum of red and black fruit flavors. A hint of spicy oak is drawn from the American oak, while the French oak builds a seductive midpalate with soft fruit tannins. Enjoy now or cellar through 2020.
