Elegant and mellow red fruit aromas of cassis and strawberry along with a floral note. This delicate and delicious Cabernet is soft and supple in the mouth, with balanced acidity and ripe blackberry fruit, gentle leather and cocoa notes mix with a bit of black cherry and coffee. For lovers of a gentler, silky style of Cabernet which is perfectly food friendly, this is a real treat.

In this vintage, the winery stays true to its reputation for making balanced, more restrained Cabernet, offering firm, structured tannins and bright cassis and blackberry around a deft sprinkling of dried herb. Built to age through 2025, it is equally enjoyable now, after a decant. Small percentages of Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec factor in.

The Jordan family never followed the herd toward hyperripe cabernet — this 2010 clocks in at a cool 13.5 percent alcohol. It feels like a juicy, old-school cabernet, its sleek red currant character edged with floral tones and a savory edge of red pepper skin. The acidity is bright and the tannins gravelly. It should age well, but is already enjoyable. Try it with pot roast.

Winner of the Wine Star Award for the American Winery of the Year! Jordan Vineyards almost single-handedly put Alexander Valley on the map. Since the release their first wine, the 1976 Cabernet Sauvignon, they’ve been a standard bearer for what this warm-climate corner of Sonoma County can produce. And year after year Jordan’s Cabernets continue to deliver bold, ripe flavors, beautifully polished with ideal balance for aging. This 2010 is the latest release and it's a stellar blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec. The wine undergoes extended maceration for 21 days and then goes into French and American oak barrels, approximately 12 months in 74% French and 26% American oak barrels; 39% new. The wine is then aged in bottle for 21 months in the winery cellar allowing the tannins to soften and the flavors the mesh. The result is the signature style of Jordan Cab, forward and supple yet well structured for aging in your cellar.Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored it 90 points and it scored 92 points in the Critics Challenge Wine Competition. They said "Big, yet not overdone. Lovely herbal earthy notes add balance. Supple tannins and engaging freshness makes it easy to recommend."

(includes 16% merlot, 7% petit verdot and 1% malbec; raised in 74% French and 24% American oak): Deep ruby. Fresh cherry, blackcurrant and peppery spices on the nose, with a hint of cured tobacco emerging with aeration. Juicy and precise, with good depth to its bitter cherry and dark berry flavors. Smoke and vanilla notes appear on the finish, which is framed by easygoing, silky tannins. This elegant and approachable cabernet checks in at a relatively low 13.5% alcohol. The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon has an exuberant, showy bouquet with touches of black olive and seaweed infusing the bright red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a soft, plush entry. There is plenty of dusty black fruit but it lacks some complexity on the somewhat predictable finish. Drink now-2015.
