Add your reviewSuper dark and intense plum black color. Very pretty edges reminds me of Black-cherry jellyThe nose has some ultra dark fruits of blackberry, dark black cherry, and currant, as well as a very nice sweet red fruits that really pop. Upon entering the mouth you sense a purity not often found. The fruits want to numb your senses, but in a good way (and this is by no means a fruit bomb). A big structured wine with class. Some lead pencil shavings, leather, and camphor are there. Slightly elevated tannin structure tells me this will go another 5-8 years with no problem. An acid level that sits quietly in the background, trying not to bring attention to itself. Nice. Avery long finish of about a minute, (and even at two you can still taste this wine) wow. I love this stuff. Pure. Elegance & brawn all in one package and that's a tough one to pull off.
Super dark crimson with vibrant purple tinged edges. The nose shows cassis as well as dark plums and black cherries. The palate has a super lush mouthfeel and balance that made me look again at the bottle to be sure it read 2003. It did. Refined elegance wrapped in a velvet layer of smooth rich tannins. Beautiful cassis filled with cedar, currant, plum and a touch of licorice this is one classy wine. Quite possibly THE best 2003 I have had to date other than Staglin. An ultra long finish that’s ends as its starts....superb. Drinking well now into 2010. Amazing....simply amazing. Anyone lucky enough to have some is in for a treat.95/100
Winemaker's Notes:
The 2003 marks the fourth vintage of "The Sisters." Heather and Stephanie continue to be pleased with its drinkability and popularity. A more approachable, lighter wine than the Estate Cabernet. "The Sisters" is quickly becoming an early drinking favorite with our customers. Beautiful dark garnet color with wide open appealing aromas of rich, ripe cassis and cedar. The wine shows off its hillside pedigree and volcanic soil origin. Very round in the mouth with concentrated cabernet varietal character, berry, cedar and spiciness. It has lovely soft tannins and is a very well-balanced elegant wine that is super approachable right now. Enjoy!
