Our 2003 Pinot Noir has a superb cool-climate aroma of thyme, black cherry, and an attractive peppery note. This wine has a seamless integration of silky tannins, loads of generous fruit with a balanced floral note in the bouquet. Aged 11 months in 100% French oak with an additional 12 months of bottle aging prior to release.

- I am behind the Hollywood curve of loving Pinot Noir. I don't dislike it, but I haven't quite caught the "Pinot-fever" that was brought about by the film "Sideways." With this offering from John Tyler, I can start to see what all the hype is about. The nose is a complex mix of strawberries, spice, and a whiff of gasoline. The pomegranate and strawberry flavors explode onto the palette, with a little hint of earthiness bringing the flavors into balance. The finish is cedar and sharp cheddar cheese overtones, while the berries linger for what seems like an inordinate read more...amount of time. All in all, a complex wine not lacking in delicious factor - a stand out in my Pinot experience and a definite must for the cellar. (hide)
