John Duval Wines Shiraz Barossa Valley Eligo 2005

Winemaker's Notes:

Dense red-purple color. Perfumed concentration of dark fruits and fragrant oak. An explosion of black cherry, blueberry fruit with great purity and layered complexity. The texture is rich and creamy but has ample tannin structure for balance. Elegant, long finish.

He has been honored with Wine Spectator's Wine of the Year award in 1995, as well as International Winemaker of the Year (International Wine and Spirit Competition, UK, 1989) and twice recipient of Red Winemaker of the Year (International Wine Challenge, UK, 1991 & 2000). He currently resides in the Barossa Valley , one of Australia 's most famous wine regions, particularly known for its old vine Shiraz . Four generations of the Duval clan have been vignerons in South Australia . Viticulture The inspiration of the Barossa Valley’s old vine, low yielding Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvedre created Plexus, combining elements into a beautifully structured blend. Traditional winemaking practices and fifteen months in French oak barriques will ensure the age worthiness of this first ever release, ensuring a long cellar life. Entity Shiraz is an intricately structured wine comprised of rich and vibrant Shiraz fruit. A true reflection of Barossa's soil and climate, Entity displays deep color and distinctive structure. Intense and elegant, Entity expresses aromas of ripe blackberry, blueberry, and a hint of spice. Read less

Deep violet. Hugely aromatic nose combines powerful blackberry, dark cherry, licorice, mocha and violet scents. Lush and velvety, but with bright minerality giving the dark berry flavors remarkable vivacity. Fills out with air, picking up deeper
