John Duval Plexus Barossa Valley White 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

Sourcing fruit from some long-time friends in the Barossa, winemaker John Duval introduced this white Plexus wine to his range as homage to traditional white Rhone varietals. Marsanne was sourced from the Marananga region, Roussanne from the Kalimna region and Viognier from Eden Valley. This is a formidable wine. This is white wine for red wine drinkers who hate white wine, it has power and huge textural presence. Attractive pale straw with a lime tinge. Lifted aromas of stone fruits and citrus. Medium bodied with texture mouth feel. Flavours of mandarin, pear and Asian spice. A great match for charcuterie, a creamy Thai chicken dish and many big seafood dishes, like smoked fish and creamy fish dishes. 'The 2012 Plexus Marsanne, Roussanne, Viognier has a very pretty nose of acacia honey, jasmine and orange blossoms over a core of fresh pears, golden delicious apples and nectarines. Medium-bodied with a nice hint of phenolic texture and real elegance to the fruit expression, it finishes long and a little spicy. Drink it now to 2015+.' - 90+pts, Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 2013
