Johann Falkenburg Gewürztraminer 2007
Johann Falkenburg is a brand of wines produced in the Sommerauer Schlossberg region of Germany, near the Ruwer River. The brand is known best for its off-dry Rieslings as well as Gewürztraminer. The wines were popularized in the US as a private label for Sam’s Club, with some availability in Germany and China.
This is one of the best Gewurztraminer I have ever tasted! It has a sweet honey, citrus aroma. On the tongue, it is not as sweet, lively, acidic, with a soft grapefruit taste that nicely lingers on the palate. Very nice!
One of my favorites!! When I can find it I buy it by the case!
Four and a half glasses
This is a nice bright, fresh fruity tasting Gewurztraminer. It starts with a slightly tart acidity and finishes with a clean smooth sweetness. Not as strong tasting as other Gewurztraminers, its still enjoyable and would pair well with fish or poultry.
