Lots of wood spice, toast, cola, and earthy fruit greet the nose. It's somewhat candied and sweet smelling with a touch of concentrated watermelon and coconut adding a tropical, summery tone to the weighty, slightly hot winter spice. Big and bold on the attack with lots of alcohol and spice covering the rather dark, tarry fruit tones. Heat is also obvious on the finish along with some sweetness from the wood. It's a big, rich, fairly well balanced wine in it's idiom but is a touch cloying and tiring to drink. 2009-2013 85pts.

sawdust froths from the quivering mouth of a woodchipper, the resin sticks to your fingers. you flip the lid of an iron casket, and you find the following: apricot sapling, pepper spray, jar of sweet mama cass molasses, horn of gunpowder.

Loads of dark fruit and oak and earth on the nose with a bit of spice and tree bark. Palate is leathery and full of tar. Less fruit but it's acidic and there is a hint of black cherries.

Much more full-bodied than other pinots I've tried. Lots of heat and spice. My kind of pinot!

A bold, meaty, proud pinot noir. A lot of earth, spice and crushed rock to start. Evolves into a nice balance of cherries and spice, before finishing on an oaky raspberry note. Very nice, robust, and masculine.

Rich nose of tarry-cassis over hints of oak following thru to flavors. Wine offers good grip in the mouth with nice chew and bright acidity.
