100% Riesling grown on solid blue slate from the steeply sloped Wehlener Sonnenuhr (sundial) vineyard. Star bright straw yellow color with very faint legs. Pronounced aromatic intensity of ripe peach, apricot, quince, pineapple and mango, with hints of orange blossom. Plenty of minerality present especially wet stone and the ever present petrol along with honey, almonds and allspice. High mouthwatering acidity, long medium sweet finish, medium + flavor intensity, medium bodied, well balanced, complex, and very good quality. I really enjoyed this wine and would love to have some spicy Asian food like Thai or Schezuan cooking to balance out the sweetness of this wine. Definitely a winner for me. 4/5

Wow. This '97 Auslese almost overpowers the sensory receptors with its succulent, pure aromas and flavors of peach, apple and slate, rapierlike acidity and brilliant clarity. But it's never too much, as it remains balanced and harmonious all the way through. Drink now through 2010.
Fresh apple and marzipan aromas. In the mouth, baked apple and vanilla custard are accented by fresh citrus. Both richer and denser, as well as brighter in acids, more sharply defined in its minerality and spicier than the Graacher.
A touch of matchstick aroma, yet underneath lies concentrated peach, line and slate on a firm, silky texture. Give it time. Best from 2004 through 2012.
Fragrant and silky, this builds in intensity on the palate, unfolding its peach, lime and slate flavors elegantly and persistently to what seems like a never-ending finish. It's lightweight and beautifully balanced - what the Mosel does best. Prüm's wines age beautifully, so don't hesitate to lay a bottle or two away for 20 years.
Pale golden yellow. Subdued bouquet of passion fruit, nut oil and acacia blossom. The lusciously sweet tropical fruit flavors are highlighted by a refreshing gingery acidity that keeps the palate light in spite of the wine's density. Although elegant and aristocratic, this auslese is also quite full-bodied, finishing astoundingly long, on a spicy botrytis note.
Aromatic, offering smoke, slate, peach and floral aromas. It picks up a lime accent on the palate. Lighter than air, with a silky texture and long, tangy aftertaste. There's a nice combination of intensity and delicacy. Drink now through 2030.
Tasted blind in the same flight as Prüm's Bernkasteler Badstube auslese, this wine is flashier, more of an attention-grabber, with amazing purity and intensity of fruit backed by great length. The fruit flavors of green apple, pineapple and lime are underscored by slate-driven minerality, and the wine, although plump and amply endowed, is well balanced, with superb posture provided by sinewy acids. Surprisingly approachable now, but could last as long as 50 years.
