Editorial Reviews for Joh. Jos. Prum Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Auslese
Big petrol and rubber nose with smoky notes. Rich and honied with a touch of botrytis and an almost syrupy character that keeps the wine simple though with just enough acidity to keep it drinkable. Too young for this one. Wait 3 years.
Apple and vanilla with a crisp finish.
Tasted the 2010. Very sweet and crisp.
Baked apple with a hint of peach and apricot on the nose. Well balanced with decent acidity. Had it with a Ceasar salad and it actually paired pretty well. I ordered another bottle for the wine cellar.
highly aromatic, cantaloupe, apricots with a viscous palate of rich fruit flavors combined with little nuances of slate
Pure and delicate, yet strong mineral and florals on the nose. Showing nice apple and peach notes and good mineral mixed in. Delicious and well balanced. - Tasted at Marché Bacchus 4/10/10
We had your reisling, 2004 when Bali at Ubud and it was stunning, thanks. It is called Riesling, Kabinet, Joh.Jos.Prum, Wehlener, Sonnenuhr, Mosel Saar Ruwer, 2004. Germany. Where can I buy this in Western Australia? My email address firstname.lastname@example.org and if you could advise me of this information.
Gorgeous bouquet of green apple, vanilla, and showing floral notes. Palate is smooth as silk! Flavors of pear and honey dominate, leading into a long velvety finish. Excellent wine! 93pts. Tasted 04/15/13

Excellent structure, ripe aromas and flavors of stone fruits (like peach), a fine minerality, great depth and length. Unique harmony, finesse and expression after aging. Fine, yet racy with elegance and complexity. Beautiful balance between fine minerality, crisp acidity, expressive fruit aromas and flavors.
A tightly coiled seam of mineral slatey-ness and tangy grip keeps the stunning package of concentrated stone fruits, pastilles, smoke, pungent citrus and white florals, all tightly woven and ravishingly refreshing. It's an Auslese for the ages, so much so that you could fill a room with this wine's ambition.
Subtle floral bouquet with peach skin and acacia blossom. Bright, slightly tart apple with a refreshing, persistent acidity. This invigorating wine has an appealing finish.
Crunchy yet nicely fleshed out, with good cut to the citrus and mineral notes that accent the apple and grapefruit flavors. Features firm acidity and a finish that echoes with ripe melon hints. Drink now through 2018.
From a mixture of Bernkastel and Graach sites plus a bit of Wehlen, the generic Prum 2011 Riesling Kabinett displays aromas already way above its station in complexity, featuring penetrating and metaphorically cooling scents of spearmint, apple blossom, fresh apple, cherry and lime, all of which - along with lusciously-dripping honeydew melon - then figure on a delicately refreshing, subtly spritzy palate that finishes with mouthwatering juiciness and impeccably-integrated, entirely discreet residual sugar. This fine value - whose May bottling, incidentally, was the estate's first - will deliver delightful satisfaction for at least a dozen years. This features ripe lime and slate notes on an elegant frame, with lively hints of white chocolate and vanilla. The rich finish of peaches and cream is accented by light, smoky notes. Drink now through 2020. -KM Apricot and mint on the nose. Supple papaya fruit on the palate. The appealing fini...
S.A Prüm is a family-owned wine estate nestled on the banks of Germany’s serene Mosel River, at the heart of the country’s celebrated Mosel-Saar-Ruwer growing region. Here, the Prüm family has cultivated vines for over 200 years. The estate has been in the hands of Raimund Prüm, owner and winemaker, since 1971 when he assumed full management. Under his leadership, the property has become one of the region’s most successful wineries, boasting an international reputation for the production of exquisite Rieslings. Production Area This estate-bottled, single-vineyard Riesling is produced from grapes grown in the famed Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard which has recently been designated an Erste Lage – or top vineyard site by the VDP. . The steep, south to southwest faced slopes are one of the top vineyards of the Mosel region. Devon slate and the light soil create a special and unique flavor in the wines with high minerals and lean style. In 1842 Jodocus Prüm, built sundials (sonnenuhr) in the best parts of the Wehlen and Zeltingen vineyards in order to display the time to the vintners. These sundials have since become a icon for the winery and vineyard. Grape Varieties 100% Riesling Vinification After careful selection, grapes were hand-harvested and are fermented in stainless steel for two months, followed by six months of aging. Aging capacity is twenty-five years. Color Golden color Bouquet Ripe fruit, peaches and apricot, solid, clean and good balance with the notes characteristic of a perfect Riesling. Taste Great structure with a little lime and citrus. Prominent mineral notes from the gray slate and outstanding vineyard site. Alcohol 9.5% Serving Suggestions Perfect to enjoy as an aperitif or in combination with blue cheeses, or creamy cheeses like fresh goat cheese. An excellent match for terrines, paté, and Asian cuisine. A wine for a special event always with a big presentation effect.
Aromas of passion fruit and nut oil. The creamy tropical fruits flavors are light, well-balanced and elegant. Certainly fun to drink.
