Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

There is a bit of sulfur here but it can't obscure the apricoty fruit with subtle green plum edges. There are light spice and slate tones that add some complexity here. On entry this is downright succulent with a voluptuous feel that leads to a liquid mineral/quartz midpalate. The backend is very lean and crisp leading to a fine, long, focused mineral driven finish. This closes in the glass and deserves some cellar time to sort itself out. Drink 2011-2020 88pts

Brilliant minerality on the nose, almost a bit of sea air. Crisp acidity perfectly balanced with the residual sugar. Silky smooth on the palette with that minerality, floral notes, and a touch of apricot. Light and refreshing.

The floral, peach and chive aromas and flavors need some coaxing to emerge in this lacy, delicate Riesling. Balanced and long, but needs air if you are going to enjoy this now. Best from 2010 through 2024.
