Joanin Becot 2008

External Review by JJ Buckley Fine Wines:

Always a top performer for the region in this price point! Deep garnet/ruby color with purple rim and brilliant intensity. Fresh ripe crushed berry with plus concentration and some richness in the mid-palate. This medium to full bodied wine shows w... Andy Frieden. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2008 Joanin Becot 750ml

A plump fleshy style with loganberry blueberry and plum fruit kissed by sweet spice and judicious toast notes on the medium-weight finish. Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2012. 3 665 cases made. -JM Wine Spectator.

Always a top performer for the region in this price point! Deep garnet/ruby color with purple rim and brilliant intensity. Fresh ripe crushed berry with plus concentration and some richness in the mid-palate. This medium to full bodied wine shows what Juliette Becot told me at our JJB Ladies of Bordeaux dinner last year where she employs the new technique of delestage! This is where the fermenting juice is drained from the tank during primary fermentation and gently pumped back over the must

An unqualified sleeper of the vintage this dark ruby/purple-tinged 2008 exhibits beautiful black raspberry and black cherry fruit backed up by sweet tannin as well as decent acidity. Soft seductive perfumed and seamlessly assembled it should drink well for 4-5 years. Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.

This is where the fermenting juice is drained from the tank during primary fermentation and gently pumped back over the must (skins stems and seeds). This delestage technique is where the tannins are sort of lengthened and oxygenated and the wine benefits with a fleshy rich mid-palate. Andy Frieden.
