Domaine Jo Pithon fashions handcrafted wines from the Chenin Blanc grape, producing wines of balance, intensity, finesse and freshness. Demonstrating the versatility of Chenin Blanc, dry white wines are produced in Anjou and Savennières, with sweet and botrytized wines being made in Coteaux du Layon and Quarts de Chaume. Located on the border of the massif armoricain (Brittany), over a schist precambrian base and featuring a W.E fault from volcano origin, Domaine Jo Pithon encounters a wide variety of bedrocks : carboniferous, sandstone, poudingue (a sedimentary rock conglomerate), pierres carrées, spilites (crack-filed basalt), and silts. The presence of these soils allow the domaine to make wine that reflect the unique character of the microclimates and soils.
