Stunning. Very aromatic and expressive, offering rose, apricot, lime and mineral notes allied to a clear, gossamer frame. Itrsquo;s well-balanced, though soft in structure and forward today. It should pick up more intensity on the finish with age. Best from 2008 through 2028.
Peach and vanilla aromas. Broad, polished and creamy, yet it lies slightly, even delicately, on the palate. Brown spice, mango and banana suggest the vintagersquo;s extreme ripeness without conveying any overt sense of botrytis. Static yet imposingly rich and layered on the finish.
This is an archetypal Pruuml;m Auslese, from its aristocratic poise and silky finesse to its vibrant energy and crystalline complexity. Its sleek fuselage of fruit feels succulent without needing to be overly rich, and its subtle, mineral-drenched flavors unfold in kaleidoscopic detail on the long and fragrant finish. At the same time, its youthfulness is almost painfully evident, a reminder that drinking this wine in optimum maturity is a pleasure that wonrsquo;t be experienced for at least another two or three decades.
Fragrant and silky, this builds in intensity on the palate, unfolding its peach, lime and slate flavors elegantly and persistently to what seems like a never-ending finish. Itrsquo;s lightweight and beautifully balanced mdash; what the Mosel does best. Pruuml;mrsquo;s wines age beautifully, so donrsquo;t hesitate to lay a bottle or two away for 20 years.
Wow. This rsquo;97 Auslese almost overpowers the sensory receptors with its succulent, pure aromas and flavors of peach, apple and slate, rapierlike acidity and brilliant clarity. But itrsquo;s never too much, as it remains balanced and harmonious all the way through. Drink now through 2010.
Pungent aromas of slate and flowers give way to peach and lime in this unevolved Riesling. The texture is supersilky, with great harmony among all the elements. Terrific length. Needs time. Best from 2014 through 2040.
Pale golden yellow. Classy bouquet of ripe apple, vanilla and sweet herbs. Rich on the palate, with a salty, resinous character and undeniably sweet apricot fruit. Unctuous yet vibrantly spicy, with a long, complex finish. This still needs time but will be a great auslese.
