Jim Barry Shiraz the Lodge Hill 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

"Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2012 The Lodge Hill Shiraz is scented of crushed mulberries, black cherries and plums, with nuances of cloves and lavender. Medium to full-bodied with plenty of juicy black fruit flavors supported by a medium level of rounded tannins and balancing acid, it finishes with good length." *-Wine Advocate (90 Points)*"Lithe and lissome, this sleek style offers dark berry, tea leaf and spice flavors on a polished frame, lingering easily against nubby tannins. Drink now through 2018. 3,000 cases imported. *–HS, Wine Spectator (90 Points)*

Wonderful wine making lends to the lavender floral notes with blueberry, plum and spice - mainly pepper with dusty tannins that finish slightly sweet. Rounded tannins are just chewy enough to give texture and meld with mineraly acidity to drive a medium length aftertaste. Drink now - Paul 91 points

A juicy, fleshy palate is supported by ripe cherry and blackberry fruit. This is delicately built with fine, lingering tannins - wrapped up in integrated, well seasoned oak. A wine that is ready for immediate enjoyment with a view to cellaring for 7 to 10 years from vintage -Winery
