June 2007
- An impressive and well endowed wine that possesses smoky bacon fat characteristics intermixed with notions of cassis, black currants, new saddle leather, and earth. With superb fruit, a great texture, and a long, rich, concentrated, smooth finish, it will provide pleasure over the next 10-12 years.

May 2008
- Dark, brooding and intense, McRae has tight, grainy tannins and despite its forward nose, requires some time to even out. It will be a heavenly wine given a few years. Drink 2006-12.
