What to Expect

Riesling is a chameleon of a grape, able to produce world class wines that range from bone dry to unctuously sweet. Germany is most closely associated with Riesling, where all styles are made and the range of flavors runs the gamut from steely and crisp with crunchy mineral-driven flavors to fresh lime, apple and peach flavored expressions - even rich honied, candied fruit tones in the great dessert wines.

Winemakers Notes

“This micro batch super premium Riesling is the fruit of all those years of patience. We selected individual rows where the terra rossa and loam barely cover the deep limestone below. To guarantee the freshness of these precious grapes, we carefully picked batches to precisely fill our membrane press in the chill of night, and destemmed the bunches without crushing them. Only the finest 40% of the juice was used in this pristine, intense, beautifully citric Riesling.” The wine offers intense citrus notes with underlying floral characters nuanced with musk traits: Grapefruit, Lime, Mandarin, read more...Orange Blossom, Honeysuckle, Rosewater, Perfume, Ambrosial. An abundance of citrus fruits compliment those seen on the nose. Fresh apples. High flavour intensity. Great length of flavour with awesome persistence. Grapefruit, Mandarin, Lime, Lemon, Like biting a Jonathan apple. Centralised around primary fruit characters. This wine will age gracefully throughout the next decade, while being enjoyable right now. We suggest consuming some as a young wine, storing well and assessing at 7 years and beyond.    (hide)
