What to Expect

Riesling is a chameleon of a grape, able to produce world class wines that range from bone dry to unctuously sweet. Germany is most closely associated with Riesling, where all styles are made and the range of flavors runs the gamut from steely and crisp with crunchy mineral-driven flavors to fresh lime, apple and peach flavored expressions - even rich honied, candied fruit tones in the great dessert wines.

The motto of JB wines is, always make a better wine than they did last year, it will be impressive if they can make a better wine than this. The Lodge Hill at one of the highest in the Clare, returned a steely, minerally riesling.

This wine is pale straw in color, with lovely lemon and grapefruitcitrus aromas. The palate is dry, revealing flinty lemon citrus, with floral orangeblossom notes - quite austere and steely - with a zesty finish.A wine to be enjoyed now or after it has aged gracefully. Ideal toconsume with chicken and seafood dishes.
