Jezebel Pinot Noir Oregon 2007
"Jezebel wines are produced by Daedalus Cellars with the intent of providing wine that is well-balanced, interesting and designed for immediate consumption.The fruit was cropped around two to three tons per acre, fermented in small lots, and blended to produce a wine that is fruit-forward, well-balanced and surprisingly complex.This particular vintage produced wines that are classically elegant in style with the structure and elegance to make them excellent food wines. The wine should pair well with salmon, chicken and mushrooms. It should be enjoyable upon release, but it may also cellar well for five to six years."Winery Notes
Very translucent light reddish-purple color with almost peachy orange edges. Very pretty. Some heat on the nose at first. Smells like warm, dusty, brambly outdoors with a campfire burning in the distance. In the mouth, very soft and plush. A luxurious texture that goes down silky smooth. Sour cherry finish.
pale ruby color; some stronger kind of funky earthy and coffee tones with more subtle cherries and raspberries on the nose; medium bodied, decent finish -- overall, it lacks the pop of bright fruit and acidity, which is the best part about good, young pinot noir. nevertheless, i appreciate the burgundian style. a far cry from some overzealous california fruit bombs.
