Deep ruby color. Wonderful blackcurrant, black cherry, and raspberry fruit and hints of mint. Chocolate notes, well integrated oak, velvety tannins, and medium acidity. Excellent length.

I'm quite impressed with this wine. It's juicy, succulent. Medium to full bodied. Slightly dry on the finish. It generally denotes a much more aged feel for a 2008. Your definitely getting you dollars worth here. It's sweet but not sweet, very well balanced. It reminds me of some much more expensive Napa Valley wines. Very smooth!

Chilean wine giant Concha y Toro produces several different brands; one of the most consistent values is the Marqués de Casa Concha series. This fresh and focused wine is 100 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for 18 months in 35 percent new oak barriques from France. It shows ripe varietal flavors of cassis, blackberry and boysenberry, accented by vanilla, mineral and cocoa notes.

The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Marques de Casa Concha spent 14 months in French oak. Alluring aromas of cedar, lavender, blackcurrant and blackberry are followed by a plush, layered, succulent wine with gobs of black fruit, ripe tannin, and 2-3 years of aging potential. It is a great value.

The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon "Marques de Casa Concha" puts out classic toasty black currant aromas and flavors. This full-bodied wine has plenty of ripe fruit and well-integrated oak, tannin, and acidity. It has 2-3 years of aging potential and should drink well through 2025.

This sensational value has a range of flavors; structure and other important characteristics that some wines costing five times more can't match. The nose is full of plum, black fruit and coffee, while the palate is pure dynamite; it's a textbook modern Cabernet that hits the target squarely in the center.

Broad-shouldered, with loam, sage, tobacco and currant flavors backed by a solid tannin structure. Dark and fleshy on the finish. Drink now through 2009.

Concentrated, with a solid core of black currant, fig and hoisin sauce notes, all layered with alluring bittersweet cocoa, espresso and roasted vanilla, followed by a long, fine-grained finish. Drink now through 2010.

This red has mineral, currant, smoke and mint flavors, and firm but ripe tannins. Lovely flesh and concentration, this married Old and New World styles in an alluring way. A great example of Cabernet from this region, and shows just how good this vintage is. Drink now through 2005.
