Wine Tasting Notes The Rieslings bouquet is a basket of bright fruits with a burst of orange blossoms and ripe apricots. On the palate, pineapple, melon and apricot dominate the rich, juicy mouthfeel. This crisp, fresh Riesling has perfect off-dry balance to complement most all spicy foods.

Keyed on fresh apricots and a touch of peach first in the nose and then again in its clean, well-balanced flavors, this attractive wine plays fairly evident sweetness against nicely placed acids and stays lively and fresh right to the end. It firms at the finish and takes on a slight green-pineapple note, but it stays in focus and should relax and round out a just bit if allowed to rest for another six months before drinking.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Drinkable now. Unlikely to improve with further aging.

The cool climate of the northern Salinas Valley enabled the grapes to hand long into the harvest while maintaining bright acidity. The result is a lovely Riesling, off-dry and refreshing in the manner of a fine German wine. It was blended with a splash of Muscat. The flavors of green apples, peaches, tangerines and honeysuckle are clean and vibrant. The residual sugar is 1.42%.
A delightful wine, and a classically inexpensive Monterey Riesling. Bone dry and crisp in acidity, it shows citrus, flower and mineral flavors, with a relieving touch of honey and vanilla. Sommeliers should scoop this one up. Production was 18,000 cases.
Another fine JR from this respected Salinas Valley winery. It's strongly flavored, with extracted peach, honeysuckle, gingerbread and citrus flavors, and a minerally streak suggesing flint. The acids are bright and firm. This dry wine finishes with a ton of spices.
This Riesling is full of peaches and apples from beginning to end. The flavors culminate with a tantalizingly crisp juiciness.
Food Pairings for Jekel Vineyards Riesling
Monterey’s cool climate influence can be seen in this outstanding Riesling. The aromas of mango, white peaches and green apple are highlighted with touches of Jasmine and a light earthiness. This mid-pallet wine has a nice balance between crisp acid and residual sugar with flavors of green apple, melon and peaches. The International Riesling Foundation© has designated this wine as medium dry.
