Jefferson Vineyards Petit Verdot Monticello 2002
This unique and powerful wine delivers a mouth-filling burst of dark red fruit tempered by black currant, spices, bacon, grenadine and tobacco. Immediately following this initial burst, the overwhelming tannic structure of the wine consumes the fruit, leaving a bone-dry finish with lingering notes of orange flowers, chocolates, rosemary and thyme. This wine can be enjoyed over the next five years and pairs well with the heaviest game dishes utilizing fatty sauces.
Winery is founded in 1773. Thomas Jefferson and Mazzrei started with 400 acres, they planted vineyard on a very good land for wine production...Now, there is 20 acres of vineyards that produce award-winning wines!
