- Caroline L'Estimée calls 2002 riper and cleaner than either 2000 or 2001 and a very fine vintage in both colors. Yields were shorter than in 2001 and the sugars were such that we didn't chaptalize everything. The reds were bottled in January and I tasted them in early March. Note: the Clos St. Jean was replanted after the 2000 harvest so it is not yet back in legal production.
