Jean-Michel Stephan Cote Rotie 2014

Member Review by CageyT:

I don't know what a "100" wine tastes like, but this wine is definitely at the top of the list of most immediately memorable. Great fruit and cherry in the nose, beautiful velvety texture on the tongue, wonderful little bursts of smoky blackberry and plum. Best decanted.

A hint of reduction quickly gives way here to a wild mix of bramble, steeped blackberry, roasted fig, melted licorice, tar and dark tapenade notes, which all weave together through a singed iron finish that shows serious length. Syrah with 10 percent... Wine Spectator. A Syrah wine from Rhone in France. 2009 Jean-Michel Stephan Cote Rotie 750ml
