Jean-Luc Colombo les Fees Brunes Crozes Hermitage 2005
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar Review Inky ruby. Intensely floral nose shows spicy dark berries and cherry, with exotic oak spice and licorice accents. Lush and round, with deep, sweet blackberry and plum flavors nicely framed by very soft tannins. Nicely firm on the finish, picking up a tangy mineral note and displaying fine, lightly gripping tannins.
Jean-Luc Colombo was born in Marseilles and originally trained as a pharmacist but in 1986 he bought the 8 hectare 'Les Ruchots ' vineyard in the Cornas appellation. He still lives on that estate, which is now organic, with his wife Anne and daughter Lauren but his business has expanded considerably as he now owns vineyards in many Rhone valley and Languedoc appellations and also operates as a consultant and negociant..
