Jean-Luc Colombo la Redonne Cotes du Rhone Blanc 2011

Winemaker's Notes:

Color: Soft, delicate salmon pink. Bouquet: Subtle hints of peach, rose petal and soft pepper on the nose. Taste: Round and full of finesse. Surprisingly complex, with intriguing notes of raspberries, fresh cherry, black olive and fennel. Serving Suggestions: A great rosé to enjoy on its own or with a wide range of appetizers, fish, poultry dishes and vegetarian fare. A perfect wine to share with friends.

Pretty golden color. Faint and pleasant tropical fruit aromas. Quite light-bodied on the palate—almost watery. Not the fruit that the aromas forecasted. A bit of bitterness. As the wine warms up a bit, though, some more fruit flavor emerges—apple as much as anything. Also, viscosity seems to change. An OK wine, but not a great wine.
