Jcr Vineyard Pinot Noir Estate 2011

Winemaker's Notes:

90 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): Vivid ruby-red. High-pitched aromas of red and dark berry preserves, with a sexy floral quality emerging with air. Juicy and seamless on the palate, offering vibrant raspberry and bitter cherry flavors and a hint of licorice. Closes on a spicy note, with excellent clarity, supple tannins and lingering sweetness. (Nov/Dec 2013) Barrel aged 22 months in French oak (10% new). 240 cases produced. Alcohol 14.4%.

At our vineyard, the weather is cooler and harsher than the nearby Sta. Rita Hills and the soil changes color and consistency over the vineyard's hillside from sand to clay to limestone. The vineyard rests on southeasterly facing slopes and is sheltered from the strong Pacific Coast winds by the surrounding hills. Please visit our website for more details.   Read less
Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.
