Rating: 88/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the August 2010 issue. There is not much held back in this big and very ripe Cabernet Sauvignon with its aromas of chocolate, smoke, dried black cherries and cassis. Full in the mouth and a touch on the hot side from its 15.1% alcohol, it is fleshy and tannic at the same time, and its deep but obvious flavors do yeoman's work in propping the wine up and giving it the center upon which its astringency will rely as it ages.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Cellar for future drinking. Wine will improve with bottle aging.

Rating: 90/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the August 2010 issue. If you are searching for classically structured claret-styled wine, this is not it. But, for out and out depth, richness and concentrated black cherry and curranty fruit backed up a full, beamy body and plenty of palate weight, this one will fill the bill perfectly. Its very evident tilt to ripeness (15.3% alcohol) is offset by its tight structure and firming acidity, and its potential to grow with aging is reflected in its long aftertaste. Hold it for five years or more.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Cellar for future drinking. Wine will improve with bottle aging.

Tight, firm and focused, rich and full-bodied, with dried currant, blackberry, balsamic, mineral and cedar notes that are intense and focused. Best from 2011 through 2016. 1,725 cases made. -JL
