95% Cabernet Sauvignon; 4% Malbec; 1% Merlot. Januik Winery:
Family-owned. Artisan winemaking. Acclaimed Chardonnay, Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Thick and rich, even on the nose - my favorite wine of the tasting. Rich notes of black cherry, chocolate, cola and eucalyptus. There's a consistent balance with the minerality. Very nice, very fruity - a big wine! Almost licorice like, but stopping just in time. Great

I found this undrinable. Cookie dough, vanilla on the nose. Overly sweet palate. Let decant for a couple of days and improved but was still not for me

Good ruby-red. Deep aromas of redcurrant, smoke, mocha and meat. Ripe and pliant but classically dry, with a creamy texture that gives this broad, concentrated wine plenty of early appeal. This boasts terrific fruit.

The wine is tight, sharp, aromatic, tart and juicy, with dry tannins that take over quickly. Though quite acidic for this vineyard, it displays classic Champoux fruit flavors of Bing cherry, blueberry and cassis. It's drinking beautifully, smooth and supple, finishing with a balanced mix of mocha and coconut.

The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Champoux Vineyard is the most expressive of the Cabernets. Opaque purple, it has a superb bouquet of toasty oak, smoke, spice box, black currant, blackberry, and plum. Full-bodied and layered, it will develop for another 4-6 years. It, too, combines power with elegance.

Earthy green olive overtones add interest to the dark fruit flavors in this firm-textured Cabernet, making the wine distinctive if not a crowd-pleaser. Bright berry fruit comes up as the finish persists. Needs time to settle down. Best from 2010 through 2015.

The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Champoux Vineyard displays a deep, spicy nose of cassis, violets, and blackberries. A suave, medium to full-bodied wine, it seductively coats the taster's palate with layers of blackberry liqueur, cassis, flowers, and black cherries. Loaded with perfectly ripe tannin, this gem goes after both the intellectual and the corporal desires of its taster. Projected maturity: now-2020.

Like its predecessors, this wine is made from what is arguably Washington State's best vineyard for this variety. Aging for 20 months in new French oak barrels added to what was already a very lengthy finish. Racking the wine every three months created very pliant tannins that nicely complement the cassis, ripe currant and dark chocolate flavors on the palate
